Welcome to Max and Kam's Classroom Slice of Life Story Challenge Blog! Our school is The Logan School for Creative Learning in Denver, Colorado. Our class has twenty-three students in the sixth-eighth grades. Instead of going to different classes each hour, most of the time is spent in one class and the subjects are taught in an interdisciplinary way. Most importantly, students spend much of their class time studying what they are passionate about and incorporating academic skills through these "units." Some examples of units studied this year are: Star Trek, Subtractive Sculpture, The Elements, The U.S.S.R and Unsolved Mysteries. One way students incorporate language arts is by reading a book a week and then writing on their personal blogs about it. We have done some Slices of Life over the past couple of months on our blogs as well and are ready to jump into this month-long challenge. We welcome positive and excited comments about our posts and are looking foreword to reading Slices from students around the country and possibly the world.

Here is a picture of us on our fall trip, on October 1st, after watching the sunrise in Chaco Canyon, New Mexico. After descending back to our campsite, we were informed the government had shut down and we needed to pack up and leave National Park land.
